Staffing solutions for care providers
Care assistants, senior care assistants and support workers for services that are short-handed — covering sickness, vacancies, annual leave and busy periods.
Every worker arrives already checked: enhanced DBS, right to work, references and mandatory training, each with its renewal date tracked.
- Checked before they arrive
- Local to both regions
- We say no rather than send the wrong person
Who we supply
We are a home care provider first. The people we place are care workers, and we only offer the roles we actually employ and train.
-
Care assistants
Personal care, mealtimes, mobility and companionship on a residential or supported living shift.
-
Senior care assistants
Shift leads who can take handover, oversee a team and administer medicines where your policy allows it.
-
Support workers
Supported living and community settings, including people with mental health needs.
-
Waking nights and sleep-ins
Where the role is care support rather than clinical observation.
What we will not do
We do not supply registered nurses. Our workforce is care staff, and a provider who sends a nurse it has not trained or supervised is doing its client no favours.
We will also turn a booking down. If we cannot send somebody suitable, we will say so the same day rather than fill the slot with whoever is free — a stranger who cannot do the job is worse for your residents than an empty shift you knew about in advance.
What every worker holds before they set foot in your service
These are the checks we keep on our own care staff, because they are the checks the law and good practice require of a care provider. A worker who is short of any of them is not offered to you.
- An enhanced DBS check with the adults' barred list, held on file with its issue date.
- A documented right to work in the UK, with any expiry date recorded and watched.
- References covering recent employment, taken up and read rather than filed.
- Mandatory training completed, each course carrying its own renewal date — safeguarding, moving and handling, infection control, basic life support, medicines where the role needs it.
- An induction aligned to the Care Certificate standards.
- Supervision and spot checks as part of our own quality system, not only at the point of hire.
How the booking works
Tell us the service, the shift pattern and what the role actually involves — not just "a carer". The more honestly the need is described, the better the match, and the less likely anybody is sent who cannot do it.
We confirm who is coming and what they hold. On the day, the worker follows your policies, your care plans and your supervision, the same as your own staff. That is how agency supply works, and it is also what keeps the arrangement outside CQC registration.
- The setting and the shift pattern you need covering
- What the role actually involves, in plain terms
- Your induction, and who gives handover
- Who the worker reports to on shift
- Anything that would make the placement unsuitable — we would rather know first
How this sits with our CQC registration
Right Choice Living is regulated by the Care Quality Commission to provide personal care in people's own homes. Our provider ID is 1-23686595812 and our record is public.
Supplying workers to another organisation is a different thing, and it is not a CQC-regulated activity. CQC's own guidance is explicit: supply through an employment agency or employment business to another provider falls outside registration, provided the agency is not directing or supervising the work. On a shift in your service, you direct and supervise — so that is exactly how we operate it.
We say this plainly because the opposite is a common claim. A staffing service is not "CQC-regulated" because the company behind it is, and you should be wary of anyone who implies otherwise. Your own registration still covers the care delivered in your service, including by workers we supply.
Short-handed this week?
Call and describe the shift. If we can cover it we will tell you who and when. If we cannot, we will tell you that instead, today, so you can try somebody else.
Questions providers ask
Do you supply registered nurses?
No. We supply care assistants, senior care assistants and support workers. Our registration and our workforce are care staff, and we will not place a role we cannot train and supervise behind the scenes.
Who is responsible for the care on the shift?
You are. The worker follows your care plans, your medicines policy and your supervision, and the care delivered in your service sits under your CQC registration. We are responsible for who we send and for the checks they hold.
Is your staffing service CQC-regulated?
No, and nobody's is. Supplying workers to another provider is not a regulated activity, so long as the supplier is not directing or supervising the work. Our personal care service in people's own homes is regulated — that is a separate part of what we do. We would rather say that than let the registration imply something it does not cover.
Can we meet the worker first?
For a longer booking, yes, and we would encourage it. For same-week cover it is usually not practical, so we will tell you what they hold and what they have done before instead.
What if the worker is not right for the service?
Tell us during the shift, not afterwards. We will talk to the worker and, if it is not working, we will not send them back. A placement that quietly goes badly for three weeks helps nobody.
Which areas do you cover?
The West Midlands and West Yorkshire, the same two regions as our home care service. Travel time is real, so we are honest about how far from each base we can reliably reach.
Can the same worker come back?
Where we can, yes, and we will try. Continuity matters as much on an agency shift as it does in somebody's own home — your residents notice a familiar face and so do your own staff.
