Personal care at home
Helping you or someone you love stay comfortable and independent at home — with support for washing, dressing, medication and daily routines.
Care built around the person's routine, not around our rota.
- Visits from 30 minutes
- Free home assessment
- Same carers wherever possible
What personal care includes
Personal care is help with the daily things that have become difficult. It is the most intimate care we provide, and the part we take most seriously — because how it is done matters as much as whether it is done.
-
Bathing and personal hygiene
Helping someone stay clean and comfortable, and keeping their confidence with it.
-
Dressing and grooming
Support to get ready for the day, doing as much unaided as possible.
-
Continence support
Discreet, unhurried help with the toilet, managed without embarrassment.
-
Medication support
Prompting or assisting with medication as the care plan sets out, and recording it — reassurance for the family as much as the client.
-
Mobility assistance
Support to move around the home, with equipment where a risk assessment supports it.
-
Mornings and evenings
Gentle support to start and end the day comfortably, keeping familiar routines.
Is personal care the right service?
It is usually the right fit if you or someone you love:
- Is finding washing or dressing difficult or unsafe alone
- Needs prompting or help with medication
- Is unsteady moving around the house
- Is recovering after a stay in hospital
- Is managing, but the family is doing more and more
- Wants to carry on living at home rather than move
If it is not the right fit we will say so at the assessment and point you to what is — including a service that is not us.
Not sure whether this is the right service?
Tell us what is happening and we will give you a straight answer, even if the answer is that you need something else.
How personal care begins
Free assessment
We visit at home to understand what is needed, meet the person, and answer your questions. No obligation and no sales visit.
Your care plan
We write it together, around routines, preferences and what the person wants to keep doing themselves.
Meet your carer
You meet your regular carers before their first visit, so nobody opens the door to a stranger.
Ongoing reviews
We review the plan with you regularly. As needs change, the care changes with them — up or down.
What you can expect
Accepting help with personal care can feel like a big step, and it is usually the loss of privacy people dread rather than the task itself.
- Respectful, unhurried support — visits planned so a wash is not rushed
- Care built around your routines, not around a rota
- The same familiar faces wherever possible
- Visits that fit your day, from early mornings through to overnight
- Support that adapts as needs change
Questions families ask
What happens at the first assessment?
We visit at a time that suits you, usually for about an hour. We meet the person needing care, talk through routines and preferences, look at the practical things families forget to mention — stairs, medication, equipment — and answer your questions. You get a written plan and a quote afterwards. There is no charge and no obligation.
Can I choose my carer?
You will meet your regular carers before they start, and if the match is not right we will change it. Tell us at the assessment if you would prefer a female or male carer.
Can family be involved in planning the care?
Yes, and we encourage it — with the permission of the person receiving care, whose wishes come first. We can share updates with a named relative and involve you in reviews.
How quickly can care begin?
Usually within a few days of the assessment. If it is urgent — a hospital discharge, or a carer suddenly unavailable — call us and we will tell you honestly what we can cover.
Do you visit at weekends and evenings?
Yes. We cover mornings, evenings, weekends and overnight — either a carer awake through the night, or sleeping in nearby and available if needed.
Can visits increase if needs change?
Yes, and they often do. We review the plan regularly and can increase or reduce the support as things change.
Do you support people living with dementia?
We provide personal care for people living with dementia where their needs can be met safely by a personal care service, and consistency of carer matters more here than anywhere. Our CQC registration covers personal care for adults, including people with mental health conditions. At the assessment we will be honest about whether we can meet the needs safely, or whether a specialist dementia service is the better answer.
Do you provide nursing?
No. We are registered for personal care, not clinical treatment. Where district-nursing input is needed we work alongside the nursing team, and we will say plainly when something needs a nurse rather than a carer.

No obligation, no sales visit. If you are arranging care for the first time and do not know what to ask, that is the normal place to start — just call.
